At this year's Leaders Conference hosted by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), we are thrilled to introduce CredentialStream for Groups - a cost-effective solution tailored to enhance the efficiency of smaller medical groups by addressing their unique needs.

Inspired by challenges faced in the dynamic healthcare landscape, small medical groups continuously grapple with the complexities of managing provider data effectively. The burden of administrative tasks and the high costs of most software solutions can make these practices feel sidelined by technological advancements. If your medical group still relies on manual processes that include spreadsheets, read on to discover CredentialStream for Groups, as highlighted in our conversation with Ashlyn Tyson, Product Manager at HealthStream®.

We also invite you to visit us at booth #919 to learn more about how our latest solution can save you time, improve accuracy, and enhance provider experiences!

Q: What is CredentialStream for Groups, and who is it for?

A: CredentialStream for Groups is a Software as a Service (SaaS), cloud-based platform for credentialing and provider/facility enrollment built with the specific needs of medical groups in mind. Key features include expirable management, data and document tracking, task management, reporting, and more. It’s ideal for small to mid-sized groups with a straightforward organizational structure, limited locations, and approximately 250 providers or less that do not have an electronic solution in place due to a lack of affordable options.

Q: What inspired this new product?

A: This product was inspired by the challenges emerging medical groups or small practices face in transitioning to digital processes. Time and time again, we’ve noticed they are often hindered by limited staffing or financial resources when investing in enterprise software.

Q: What problems does it solve? What new efficiencies has it created?

A: CredentialStream for Groups allows medical practices to streamline operations swiftly through a user-friendly platform. Within a matter of weeks, they can adopt an affordable solution that seamlessly centralizes and manages Organization, Location, Provider, Payer and Contract data and documentation. With a cutting-edge payer contracts module, practices can track a contract from inception to approval. The platform also facilitates efficient management of expirations and other tasks.

Q: Could you highlight some other key features?

A: We utilize resources like HealthStream Portfolio and our coming soon CAQH (Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare) import feature to import your provider data initially. We are implementing ways to perform standard Primary Source Verifications for OIG (Office of Inspector General), SAM (System for Award Management) and DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration). Additionally, our robust payer contracts module enables you to conveniently store and track your payer enrollment process within a single record for each facility and provider. Furthermore, we ensure you stay informed about all expirations related to your Organization, Locations, and Providers.

Q: What is unique about this solution that differentiates it from others?

A: First off, CredentialStream for Groups is easy to use and affordable. It can also be self-implemented within a few weeks, and there is a wide array of support available, including extensive online training materials.

Q: What are clients risking/losing if they are not using CredentialStream for Groups?

A: CredentialStream for Groups enables automated processes. Groups lacking automation often use manual processes, including various spreadsheets and paper applications. This leads to disorganized data and documentation and results in lost revenue due to missed expirations or delays in enrollment processes.

Q: What's next for CredentialStream for Groups?

A: We have numerous features in the works for CredentialStream for Groups. These include expanding options for rapid provider implementation, introducing provider-facing solutions for seamless electronic connection, and implementing solutions for expanded Primary Source Verification options, among others.
