Based in Tampa, Florida, Mission Health Communities is a premier provider of senior living and skilled rehabilitation communities, with a dedication to enhancing the quality of life for those served. Mission Health manages and operates senior living, assisted living, short-stay rehabilitation and skilled nursing communities in Georgia, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
Prior to using Quality Manager, Mission Health had been using a spreadsheet-based system to keep track of surveys and assessments. While the system was functional, it was cumbersome and time-consuming, especially for a large community of facilities spread across multiple states.
Mission Health has used Quality Manager for a number of years and has expanded its use, particularly with the addition of new features and capabilities. According to Karen McDonald, the Chief Clinical Officer, the ability to pull in relevant MDS data into the system automatically has been extremely helpful in making the process as seamless and efficient as possible. They also appreciate the ease of use for annual QAPI plans, recording minutes of QAPI and Infection Control activities, and related projects. Facilities used the meeting minutes capabilities during the pandemic to record changes for a historical lookback at processes.
The staff has greatly appreciated the time saved, going from spreadsheets and binders to an electronic system. The Facility Assessment saves hours of work annually, particularly for updates. Individuals can also quickly access information in any facility across the system at a moment’s notice. According to Karen, having everything electronically, including notes, has added to visibility for staff at all facilities as well.
