The Quadruple Aim eBook
For more than two decades, there has been a concerted effort among the institutional leadership of the U.S. healthcare industry to transform how care is delivered, especially in terms of patient safety. This movement was codified in a framework developed by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). Known as the “Triple Aim,” its components include improving the patient experience of care, improving population health, and reducing per capita cost. Improving the clinician experience has been added to these intentions, creating the “Quadruple Aim,” which has been adopted to guide ongoing quality strategy efforts by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other leading government and industry institutions. This HealthStream eBook examines each aim in turn and identifies HealthStream solutions designed to help healthcare organizations make progress against them.
